Era triggers it’s behaviors on normal User interactions in Salesforce rather than button clicks, record edits… etc. This means evaluating Era requires a little bit of a different approach.

Here are some tips that we’ve found to be helpful for evaluating Era:

• Open two browser windows

  • In the first window run through your testing by opening/closing records, browser tabs, device apps or anything else you think is important.

  • In the other window open a report or List View with at least the Start Date/Time & Finish Date/Time fields shown and use this to review the results.

• Think before you click

  • It doesn’t matter if you click on an Excel file, Salesforce Home Page, or your computers desktop. If the timer was running that click will cause it to stop.

  • Slow down and think about each click before you do it and whether you expect that click to start or stop the timer.
